I'm surprised at how bad this show is. Maya Rudolph & Kristen Wiig are usually so funny. I'm wondering if they even read the scripts before they do each episode. It's really not funny, in any way. The premise is hackneyed, "Hey! Let's be white trash, cause we always got laughs doing it in our improv groups!" Yawn. Or, maybe the creator of the show has something on them. I can't imagine anyone doing this show, unless they were being blackmailed. #NotOneOriginalThingInThisShow
LOVE this show, and can't wait for Season 2. It has made me laugh out loud, but also blush with embarrassment. I could be completely wrong, but I feel like this is one of the first representations of young women/girls that is truly authentic, at least as much as is possible in a comedy show. The writing is great, and so is the acting. I'm so impressed by the actual teens, and I have no idea how they can get through a scene with a straight face.
My God, I love this show! I was surprised by how funny it is, and how many amazing cameos there are. I don't want to say too much, cause it could ruin the impact of the comedy. I'll just say that they are genius at using what they have to make a much bigger world.
