An interesting idea not totally followed through it seems. Lite on the gore that so many these days shoot for, as a security guard at a mall really does not like people who shoplift. Armand Assante in the lead role is somewhat interesting as he tries to work with a new employee who is thrown in with him as the mall gets ready for the xmas season. Kept my interest and the ending was decent, until the last minute when it veered to what so many horror movies do. But the lite gore was also a pleasure in a way, as it built suspence without too much blood and guts, though i did see it on TV, so maybe it was edited heavily.
A cute movie based on a gay movie star in the 1950's faking a marriage while he loves another guy. Cute and clever at times, but a little over the top at times also. campy fun for some, and lame for others. But more camp than lame.
Loved it loved it loved it. Yes it is a musical, much of it is sung, and the music is catchy and I bought the soundtrack right after seeing the movie. I also liked the non musical from years ago, but surprisingly I enjoyed this even more. I am so looking forward to the possible sequel. The story of chubby Tracey Turnblad wanting to get on the local tv dance show is touching, funny and even deals with the somewhat heavy subject of race relations. If you like musicals, you'll like this one almost for sure.
