Evil Grave: Curse of the Maya (Curse of the Maya)

Another of a zombie marathon with Neil. Surprisingly good movie. Acting was of course cheesy, but in that good way you want with a bad zombie movie. Decent zombies and fight scenes. Not your usual wuzzy zombies, fast and strong and even a few with ceiling climbing abilities. Oh an its not that todd bridges from Different Strokes.

Urbania (2000)

Dark thriller. Could see myself in this movie if I was subject to what they went through.

The Baby

Dark and twisted yet with a happy ending. Should be a cult classic.

Predators (2010)

Spoiler Alert: As a fan of the Predators and Aliens universe, I was a bit disappointed at this new effort. I wasn't expecting anything amazing, just some fun action and special effects. There was action and there were special effects, but they weren't in an interesting context. It was bizarre there was just a bunch of scenes kinda rammed together. Horned monster dogs attacking the main characters, oh yeah they're flushing you out in a bizarre mindless fashion. What was the deal with the scene with Laurence Fishburne? Was it merely so they had access to grenades? His character was useless and his death was meaningless. What about the rebellious Predator? I was so annoyed that the character's stories and potentials were wasted. There wasn't any growth or bonding, expect maybe between Royce and Isabelle. My favorite part was at least Tophers twist, even though they did throw the foreshadowing plant in at the beginning. I was just sad that unlike the first two Predator movies and AVP1 there wasn't a true antagonism or bond built between the human and the Predator.

Surprisingly fun and darkly humored zombie movie. low budget and cheesy of course but with enough intelligent writing to make it a fun movie. stereotypical characters but done nicely as a way to satirically emphasize all our flaws. definitely not for everyone but a fun little sleeper for a rainy day
