Terminal Island is exploitation queen Stephanie Rothman's masterpiece of life on an island that holds death row inmates, because the death sentence has been abolished. Prime sleaze with a handful of bad actors, ridiculously funny dialogue, and some very sexy 70's ladies. Not to mention a coke snorting Tom Selleck and loads of primal violence, this film has it all. I'm sure a lot of this was an influence for The Running Man, Gamer, and Battle Royale.
Come Drink With Me is a highly entertaining Kung fu flick from the Shaw Brothers studio, it's one of the classic Kung Fu films of the 60's. Loaded with action sequences from start to finish and has a surprising amount of blood for being so old. The plot is pretty easy to follow the head of a clan is taken hostage to be payment for the kidnappers' leader that is about to be executed. Like I said great action and the cinematography is gorgeous highly recommended to Kung Fu fans.
Roger Corman produced gladiator film that is a mix of sexploitation and blaxploitation that never really works on either level. After a group of women that have been captured in their homelands are brought to Rome and sold into slavery, and then made to fight each other in the arena. Lousy film has only one saving grace and that's the fact that Pam Grier is shown in the buff a handful of times throughout, either way the film is poor.
So bad it's good but still pretty bad horror film that is about a group of pranksters that decide to pick on the teacher with a past. The script is extremely unintentionally funny it's downright ridiculous, makes one think why and where do people come up with the money to make such gabage. Everything aside the film is bad, the acting is bad, there is very little gore, and involves nothing scary what so ever. If you are a conisseur of crap then this is definately your cup of tea.
Lawerence Tierney is amazing as gangster Dillinger his facial expressions are spot on to the suspense of the film. Short but effective crime quickie starts as Dillinger commits his first holdup and then blazes through the rest of his life to his death. The action sequences are great, the direction is great, and the fast paced camera shots are perfect. An all around great piece of work.
