This is a finely crafted film with an amazing performance by Christian Bale. I grumbled over the racist slur by Henry Ford II and in general I grumble about how much money is spent by rich white men on this sport, but I concede this is very entertaining and well-done.
Riveting, compelling and eye-opening, with fantastic performances! Loved it and appreciated the depiction of Harriet's incredible story and courage. Only thing was the ending felt super rushed. I wanted more.
There may be a couple points where you have your doubts that Taiki Waititi can pull this satire off but I'm about 97% sure he did. War is horrifying, genocide is not funny and yet there is no doubt that humor can be found even in the darkest of circumstances. There are enough moving, serious, dramatic moments to give the movie some heft, and overall I feel the right message comes across. The performances were really great. The ending was a bit of a disappointment.
