I came for Henry Cavill, I stayed for the mythology, and that's as far as I got. No, I didn't want to turn it off, but I did find myself wanting to multitask while watching. Not a sign of a good movie. I mean, it was cool and you'll like it if you enjoy Spartacus, 300, Clash of the Titans, etc. It's stylized and overexposed, which is awesome to look at, but the story line isn't too thrilling. Plus Rourke was sadly disappointing. Needless to say the next time I venture out for a Cavill movie (the new Superman), I won't be disappointed by him just being on screen, but I'd prefer a little more substance to be behind it.
3 3/4 stars. I'm an emotional wreck for dolphins and inspirational animal stories. Its a sweet story based on a true tale that's bound to make anyone with a heart smile. Its got some cheese, but who doesn't love cheese? Definitely a good one for the family.
With a cast like this one, I figured I'd give it a go. Mostly I wasn't disappointed, since I'm a sucker for heist movies. My only complaint was how far fetched it was. I get that they wanted to do something different and new, but this was a little extreme not to mention impossible. I like my heist movies to be possible in the real world. But it's good mindless fun anyhow.
I give this 3 stars because I was pretty into this until about 2/3 through the movie. It had a good plot, it had the power to go places, but then it just got really convoluted and borderline confusing. At least Channing Tatum's mustache was worthwhile, lol.
As a fan of both cats and the Shrek movies, Puss in Boots was really entertaining. If you're at all interested, its worth your time.
