Don’t see it if you don’t like singing or if you aren’t already a fan of the series.
I might actually like this more than 4 stars, but I'm not sure yet. This is one that will need to percolate. Coppola does a great job of keeping you on the edge of your seat, and the lighting is world-class. Great acting as well.
Affleck is very good, but the film overall was soooooo predictable.
Manipulative but still good.
Better than the fresh rating indicates. But the editing and/or script have some major failures, which makes a thought provoking concept less than it should have been.
Feather-light, predictable German rom-com/road movie. The first 20 minutes or so annoyed me enough that I almost put the disk pack in the envelope without finishing it. But by the end, I was having a mildly good time. What the script lacks in originality, it makes up for in interesting characters and good acting. Cute.
I enjoyed this a lot.
Very good period drama about WW I.
Asks a lot of interesting questions and even bothers to answer a couple of them.
Just a gritty, bare bones Kung Fu movie. No complex plot, no lovey dovey kiss kiss. Just flat out action. See it for the hyper-realistic fight choreography. Brilliant stuff.
Honestly not sure about the rating at this point, but this is a visually arresting film that is about Gypsy slavery in Romania in the 1800s. But it will feel very familiar to an American audience. Some very funny moments, some very sad and horrific moments, all with an Eastern European feel.
