Highly underrated suspense/horror. A bit slow to start, but masterfully shot.
Nic Cage always keeps things interesting, but this low budget melodrama doesn't work on any other level.
Satire, dark introspection, and terrible roommates. Moreso than any specific moment, I love the grungy/indie feel of the film. The scene where the commander has a conversation with the 'dead' previous captain is one of the funniest scenes I've seen in a movie in a very long time.
Top 5 of 2019! Even if you think you know where the story's going, I urge you to stick with it, you will be rewarded. Has just as much 'feel good energy' as it does splatter.
The best Friday the 13th movies are the ones that embraced the silliness of the whole endeavor. We all came to see Jason kill people, so we might as well be doing it in space. Great dumb, silly slasher fun!
