Dunkirk (2017)

could be one of the best war movies ever made in terms of the way Nolan has told the story and how he is able to make the audience experience what it would've been like during World War II. This is a very intense ride from the very first frame to the last which is about 107 mins. Hanz Zimmer's background score is terrific and is an integral part of the movie without which the scenes would've been ordinary. Nolan is a genius who has taken film making on to a different level altogether. Master piece. A must watch!

The Lost City of Z

is based on a true story of an English explorer Percy Fawcett played by Charlie Hunnam. Sometimes the directors intentions of making a movie out of a great subject is not always successful. This is one such a movie. It is too long and slow. An average movie.

Alien: Covenant

Ridley Scott is not new to making Alien movies. This one is the sequel to his 2012 film Prometheus, the 2nd part of the Alien prequel series. One more to come. He does not reinvent the wheel with this one but yet he's got the talent to keep us engaged. Michael Fassbender is superb. A good watch if not excellent.

War Dogs
War Dogs (2016)

War dogs - is not great. I felt it to be a little boring at some parts. The only plus is Jonah Hill's acting. He has done well. Two friends wins an US Military contract during the Iraq war and exploits it. The movie is just about average.

The Great Wall

A great director Zhang, a great actor Matt Damon joins together and what do we get - a disappointing movie. The story does not even make any sense. A waste of time.
