This movie seemed very engaging at first, because it's so long on style. Visually, it's amazing. But, for me, the story got off to a slow start before picking up somewhere close to the middle. It's a fun movie. But movie of the year? Probably not, at least not for me.
I thought this film was very entertaining, but not as groundbreaking or moving as I had been hearing. Maybe I had heard too much hype before seeing it. The lead characters were acted superbly, but the supporting actors not always so great. Overall, it reminded me of a very good, 3-hour stand alone episode of Parenthood.
A great story with lots of suspense, plot twists and turns, etc., but it probably didn't need to be more than two hours. If this was done in 4 acts, the 3rd one dragged a bit, but it's still a really good movie.
