Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari. (The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari)
2 days ago via Movies on iPad

Considered by many to be the first ever horror film. Whether you agree or not, it is absolutely a groundbreaking film. The expressionist art style makes it both beautiful and almost dreamlike (or perhaps nightmarish?). It's amazing how well it's been restored and the music that has been added was very good for helping to set the mood. If you want to study the history of film or consider yourself a movie connoisseur, this is mandatory viewing.

The Peanuts Movie

It does a great job of keeping the same charm and humor of the past Peanuts comic strips & holiday specials. A lot of remakes/reboots like this would change the style and have them dancing to a current pop artist's song, which could not only make their hardcore fans groan, but will likely make the scene stale and dated within a few years. The Peanuts Movie resists those types of silly tropes and sticks with what brought them to the dance. It's the usual themes of past Peanuts work with Charlie Brown having problems, Lucy being a little over dramatic, Sally being in love with her "sweet baboo" Linus, etc. They also continued to use the music of Vince Guaraldi, which is terrific since it wouldn't have felt the same without it. If you are a fan, you will love this film. Even if you're not really into the Peanuts, you will probably enjoy it. It's a good movie for kids AND adults (even if you sound like a horn when you talk to kids).

The Revenant

Gritty and raw. A rather simplistic story of revenge that will keep you captivated for 2 1/2 hours. The cinematography was amazing and definitely deserving of its Oscar win in that category. Highly recommended!

Now You See Me 2

Confusing, silly, and too convoluted for its own good. A disappointing sequel.
