The Dark Knight Rises
½

Gonna keep this spoiler free!

Although a little long and I want to make a second viewing, I really enjoyed this film. Nolan consistently out does himself with each film he releases. It's a shame I couldn't see this in IMAX but on a normal screen you could still grasp the epic feel he was going for. This film also restores my faith in the cinematic interpretation of Bane, Tom Hardy was spot on here.Anne Hathaway and
Joseph Gordon-Levitt were amazing additions to the film as well, they have to be the strongest new characters I have seen in a film all year. Although a dark film, I was really hoping for more of the Alfred/Bruce banter I loved so much from re-watching BB and TDK. It makes sense why they took it out when you view the film. I will leave it there because I will start talking about key points and spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it

Man of Steel
Man of Steel(2013)

I enjoyed the hell out of this film til about half way, after that while there was still plenty to like but the narrative collapsed and by the end the carnage and eye candy couldn't save what this film was trying to tell us, Superman's message. Acting, visuals, rebooting Superman were great, I enjoyed the development of Superman enough to overlook the faults of the film.

Non-Stop
Non-Stop(2014)

Is it Liam Neesons best film? Nope. Is it utterly ridiculous in it's second half? Yes and it uses it to it's advantage. Non-Stop is a fun thrill ride, Neeson is in fine form in this film and it has a strong supporting cast. I recommend it to fans of Taken and Unknown.

Field of Dreams

As a casual White Sox and baseball fan, I though this film is one of the best I've ever seen. It's one of the few Kevin Costner films I've seen (or want to remember) and his makes a home run performance.

The LEGO Movie
½

Lord and Miller have been my favorite writing team since Clone High. As soon as I heard they were making a movie based on Lego I was excited. Once I heard the plot synopsis I wanted to see it right away, 3 years later this was worth the wait. Surprisingly meta and heartfelt, The Lego Movie is fun for everyone.

Thor: The Dark World
½

A little uneven, some nice twists and quiet a bit of humour with great performances makes Thor: The Dark World a fun watch.

American Hustle
½

Very slick film that is quite funny at times.

12 Years a Slave

Hard to watch yet I couldn't take my eyes off the screen, film making at it's finest.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues
½

Anchorman 2 lived up to expectations, I thought I was gonna die laughing!

Elysium
Elysium(2013)

I might be a tad bit generous with 4 stars, the visuals and performaces were brilliant. Blomkamp is still making his name as a director, which I look forward to what else he has coming. Script wise, it let the film down. Elysium has the makings of a classic but it didn't push the extra mile to earn it.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
½

The second film in the Hobbit trilogy not only improves on the first, but is one of the best films of the year.

Lethal Weapon

I've no idea why critical reception is lowering as the film ages, every time I watch Lethal Weapon it's as great as the first time I watched it.

Pacific Rim
Pacific Rim(2013)

Big, fun and visually awesome. Pacific Rim brought out the kid in me with the Robot vs Monster fights.

Recommended for all ages!

Iron Man 3
Iron Man 3(2013)

Fantastic start to Phase 2! Explosive, witty and dramatic. RDJ, Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce pull out all the stops with their performance's. As much as I'd love RDJ to keep playing Tony Stark every actor needs to end their run at a character and this could have been the perfect send off (He is announced for Avengers 2)

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Dragged on a little but Jackson's return to Tolken was well worth the wait. Martin Freeman was the perfect casting for Bilbo and the visuals were as great as ever. The change to 48 fps took a few minutes to get used to but I was eventually sucked into dazzling eye popping visuals. Recommended for J.R.R Tolken fans and casual movie goers

Ip Man
Ip Man(2010)

Extraordinary film!

The Raid: Redemption

The fights are breathtaking, the suspense never fails. I recommend for all action junkies out there! It's the best action release I've seen since The Bourne Ultimatum was released in 2007.

A Good Day To Die Hard
½

Why John Moore and Skip Woods keep getting work confuses me. This was the weakest entry into one of my favorite franchises. While Bruce Willis and Jai Courtney do their best with what they are given, they are let down with a thin script and bad direction. I would like to see Courtney back as Jack as I do think he deserves another crack at this franchise.

The Last Stand

One could argue I enjoyed this to much. But hey! Arnie is back and better then ever, bringing along the comic relief of the always great Luis Guzman and Johnny Knoxville. After a murder of a farmer a small town sheriff and his deputies must stop a drug lord from crossing the border to Mexico. Pack with tons of action, plenty of funny dialogue and a memorable villain played by Peter Stormare this was one of the surprises of the first half of 2013 for me.

Lockout
Lockout(2012)

Guy Pearce really carries this one, although the premise was done to death it was still a solid entertaining action film

Silver Linings Playbook

Bradley Cooper caught me off guard with this one, he is truely great, his chemistry with Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro is enough alone to check out this film, I will say the whole cast will be sweeping up acting awards for this one! The film itself considering the subject did a fine job on telling Pat's story, I cant wait to see what David O' Russell has coming next

Argo
Argo(2012)

Tense and quiet often funny, Affleck directs another winner! I love Affleck's directing work, Alan Arkin was terrific as the comic relief....I am very disappointed Affleck didn't land a Directors nomination at the Oscars for this. I highly recommend it to everyone, it is the best film of 2012!

Pearl Jam Twenty

As a Pearl Jam fan I was found it very entertaining.

Skyfall
Skyfall(2012)

Seen it last month, by far the best Craig Bond (If not one of the best ever made). The story was great, exploring the back story of Bond and M. Craig is one his way to being one of the best Bond's.

Beverly Hills Cop

A damn fine action comedy, you can clearly see why Eddie Murphy became one of the most recognizable actors of the 80's. Definitely one of my favorite films

Monster House

I originally checked it out because I love Dan Harmon's work but I got sucked into the creepy yet goofy story. Combined with solid performaces and motion capture I really really enjoyed this film

Prometheus
Prometheus(2012)

Not as good as I hoped, the visuals were impressive and Michael Fassbender was great! The story was alright, I suppose I should have been prepared to be a little disappointed by Damon Lindelof

Men in Black III

This move wont win an oscar for best picture but it's only you can relax and have fun watching. Josh Brolin does a great job playing yonng K and Will Smith shows his best form in years! I hope they leave the series alone now as the ending was nice....

Marvel's The Avengers

Words cannot describe how much I loved this film. Drama, Comedy and Action altogether. Joss Whedon is a true genius!

Drive
Drive(2011)

Did not know anything about it going in and I heard Ryan Grosling only did chick flick before this but wow....words cannot express how much I loved this film

Cop Out
Cop Out(2010)
½

tracey morgan is an unbearable actor! but i did enjoy this film..
