Phone Booth
Phone Booth(2003)

Very rare I give a film a five star but this film is so basic in the fact it is centred around a phone box and playing tricks and who's going to die, it just works. I have seen this film before and enjoyed it then and when I heard it was going to be on again I had to watch it so that shows you how much I enjoyed it the first time round.
A well written film and intense from beginning to end I am sure anyone who sees this one will think this is the perfect film to watch at any time but especially when nothings on and it fills a Friday night.

Dream House
Dream House(2011)

Having seen this recommended by my cable magazine, I thought it would be and out and out horror. It was nothing of the sort. I am not a lover of drama films and that is what this film is. It is a black drama about a man coming to terms with killing his kids.
What does go in the favour of the film is the fact that the storyline is quite compelling and what kept me watching otherwise I would've turned off. It will also surprise you in places as well. If it weren't for this fact I would've only given it 1 star.
I do have 1 question and that is, what do people see in Daniel Craig? He is an ugly sod.

The Dictator
The Dictator(2012)

This is completely removed from what you would expect from Sacha Baron Cohen but almost the same close to the mark jokes and some would argue what you think but are to scared to say. In a nut shell, if you prefer the off the cuff where Ali G interviews someone then you will be disappointed with the film. If you want a film with some O.K. Jokes then this is up your alley and does some have some good laughs in it.
This is an O.K. Film, not bad but not brilliant either. It was just light enough to watch like I have on Sky Movies of a Sunday afternoon and the plot is also simple enough to follow.

Shadow Dancer

Although the film sucks you in with quite a dramatic storyline I must admit to being slightly confused by the end of it. This is a very dark film with no let up at all in mood but does go to show in some way what was really going on between London and Northern Ireland during the troubles.
Not the best film in the world but not the worst either.

The Iron Lady

This film is good but not brilliant. I am a Thatcher fan and it shows her from her life in politics from the days of doubt because she was a women up to the point she was booted out of the party. An autobiography of a life that was amazing. What is uncanny is just how much like Thatcher Streep actually looks and sounds considering she is a yank. If you enjoy British films and like politics and history then you will love this film.

St George's Day

I was not quite sure what to expect from this movie but I enjoy most films if they centre around Britain for a change. However, this film disappointed me. I watched this film with my bird and we both found the plot a little difficult to understand. We know it's a gangster film but that's about as far as it goes. I can't really add more than this. As for the ending of the movie I was left confused as to what the hell had just happened and why the film was ending. I feel giving this film a 3 star in the first place is a bit generous.

I was sceptical about this film as I am not in to this sort of genre however I was pleasantly surprised and had me gripped through out. I would recomend it heavily even if the plot is a little bit to be expected.

I expected more of this film and it doesn't even get started.
It's obviously about Big Brother and how George Orwell saw the future of Europe in the second world war. I do wonder if the book leaves more to the imagination than the actual film.
The good thing about this film though is room 101 or "ministry of love" where Richard Burton is tortured for commiting the crime of "independant thought" against Big Brother.
It's worth watching if you are a Big Brother fan or have been in the past to see where the idea of the programme came from.

Both myself and my bird liked this film. Just when you think you have worked out the plot line this film delievers something else and in this day and age a good horror is hard to come by.
It leaves the door open for a second one which I think will be just as good.

I was expecting a lot more from this film having watched Russel Brand from his Big Brother days way back in 2004 and I have to say although the plot was good, the comedy is poor, even if it did have Helen Mirren in it. I would say to byepass this film given a chance.
