Movie Ratings and Reviews

The Matrix
The Matrix(1999)

One of my favorite movies ever. If I could I'd totally expunge the memory of having seen the two sequels and program my brain against ever watching them again.

Bruce Almighty

A great premise played to the hilt by Jim Carrey. My favorite scene was the one where Steve Carell stole the whole movie!

School of Rock

I loved the line: Would you tell Picasso to sell his guitars? followed by Oh my God! He's an idiot!

White Chicks
White Chicks(2004)

I wish I could give this zero stars. I'd like to give it negative five stars if possible.

The Incredibles

One of the best comic-book films ever, and it's not even based on a comic book!

Austin Powers in Goldmember

The beginning of the end for Myers, even though this one made a mint.

Braveheart
Braveheart(1995)

Mel Gibson may be a creep, but this was a great movie!

E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial

Robbed of the Best Picture Oscar all those years ago.

A Walk to Remember

Just plain syrupy. Not recommended for diabetics.

Sin City
Sin City(2005)
½

I thought it was sick for the sake of being sick.

10 Things I Hate About You
½

The best teen adaptation of the Bard I've seen.

Ocean's Eleven

The other two did not live up to this at all.

Mean Girls
Mean Girls(2004)

Tiina Fey's brilliant writing shines through.

War of the Worlds

Visionary in some aspects, stupid in most.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
½

Another confection from Depp and Burton!

Meet the Fockers

Wince inducing, like the first one.

About a Boy
About a Boy(2002)

My favorite Hugh Grant movie EVER!

Finding Nemo
Finding Nemo(2003)

Brilliant and funny and touching.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith
½

This was reasonably entertaining.

Scary Movie
Scary Movie(2000)

Crude and crass. Nuff said.

50 First Dates
½

Syrupy but still fun.

Spider-Man
Spider-Man(2002)
½

This was the fulfillment of a childhood dream, though it was not without its flaws

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

Except for some awful dialogue, acting and plot holes, this movie was great!

King Kong
King Kong(2005)

Loved it, except for some story devices that didn't seem to make sense.

Shrek 2
Shrek 2(2004)
½

As a married person I related quite well to this film.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Not a big Potter fan but this was okay.

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective

It had some moments of brilliance.

Gladiator
Gladiator(2000)
½

Loved it. Supremely entertaining.

American Pie
American Pie(1999)

This was a lot of fun!

Titanic
Titanic(1997)

Not my cup of tea
