This spin-off/sequel is significantly better than the first. What everyone was hoping to see with the excellent concept is a view of chaos, or dare I say "anarchy" on the streets. While the first did not have that, and tried to make another clichéd home invasion movie out of it, this movie brought back those former expectations.
Decent movie, but not their best work. The best part is that the writers remembered to make the second half as good as the first, unlike many other movies where they can't figure out where to go.
I really did love the movie, mostly for its wonderful and uplifting story. I have not read the book (yet) but am sure, as others say its probably even better. But, the movie still stands on its own for being a rare gem of what comes out of hollywood by actually having some real meaning.
I wasn't expecting much based on horrible reviews, but it wasn't bad. Nothing better or worse then any of the Paranormal Activity sequels. It was interesting to watch, but I wouldn't watch it again.
A little slow to get started but speeds up about halfway through. At least the story made sense, in a horror/supernatural kind of way, instead of having all kinds of mixed events the way so many horror movies often do.
