I didn't expect much when first deciding to view High Tension. To my surprise there is much more to this film than meets the eye. High Tension blends the genres of Horror and Psychological Thriller in an interesting and suspenseful fashion, with seem less twists and turns. The soundtrack does the film justice well at the same time makes the audience think of the meaning behind the lyrics in correlation to the film. There isn't a moment where you doubt CÃ (C)cile De France performance. Alexandre Aja deserves praise for High Tension.
The Gorilla gives viewers a perfect blend of suspense, classic horror, and Ritz Brothers unique brand of comedy. Bela Lugosi once again shows his range as a horror icon in this quirky romp. I recommend this film to all old fashion horror enthusiasts.
Director Mark Harvey chills us with a combination of surrealistic horror and psychological torment. I found the story to be interesting yet a little slow at times however the twist that wraps up this film really caught my attention...the only other problem I had was the leading lady. Looks wise she had a combination of classic old horror beauty but with an odd twist, but as far as her character development goes I was unimpressed by some of her characters expositional dialogue. Other than that I really enjoyed this film and recommend it to anyone who's in the mood for a mysterious horror film of yester year.
Quite funny but a bit annoying. The jokes are cleverly based around pop culture references but maybe one to many Scream 4 steps outside it's normal realm of horror meets comedic satire and gives the audience more of a Scary movie feel. it's obviously trying to out do the original and in doing so it only back fires on itself. The majority of the cast are weak and the only quality I can give credit to is that they did manage to give us a twist that I can honestly say I didn't see coming. So in conclusion if your a Scream franchise fan, with as much disappointment as this film will fill you with. Still check it out just so you can say you've seen the most recent and hopefully last Scream film.
A tad bit long for my taste but I expect that when entering the realm of Stephen King. It has a interesting premise and a gang of characters we have all seen a hundred times! This film is entertaining but forces you to ask the question what's the chase and how do I cut to it. The ending as unrealistic and absurd as it is leaves you with a feeling of warmth and happiness. Tim Curry is brilliant especially considering that this very british man went from speaking like he's in jolly ol London to an all American rough grough and down right vile clown voice. Despite everything I just said if you have three hours and fifteen minutes to spare check it out. IT won't kill you...
