Underworld: Blood Wars

The Underworld series was never masterpiece material in the first place,it was always more of a guilty pleasure flick. But even my the series normal standards, this sequel felt rushed, forced and at times boring. In other words, the franchise is.. running out of blood. Here's hoping the next movie will do better, just like the previous movies in the saga.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Feels like two plot narratives compressed into one but still an amazing new entry into the Potter cinematic universe filled with feel-good zone characters, damn adorable creatures and strong promise on an epic future follow-up involving Dumbledore and his rival x friend, Grindelwald.

Doctor Strange

Psychedelic themed, vibrant and iMAX pleasing visuals but this Marvel episode is missing something that ends up making it feel hollow. It has your basic zero turned hero plot, learning new powers, typical compulsory love interest and two terribly underwritten villains. And maybe that's the main problem; the formula is getting old. Even some of the attempts at humor fall flat. It's passable, but just above the horrendous Ironman 3.

Max Steel

It's not your big budget Marvel or DC flick but with its simple story premise with a likable duo, minimalist setting and remarkably BEAUTIFUL visuals and effects, its worth watching as an evening popcorn movie or when you have nothing else to watch. Again, I must emphasize, it was like watching an Instagram movie. Beautiful.

Suicide Squad
Suicide Squad (2016)

In a nutshell, not bad DC, not bad at all. Definitely a step-up from the train wreck which was Batman v Superman.
The movie was fun; it wasn't groundbreaking, but it was enjoyable.
Most of the characters were baked to perfection; especially Deadshot, Harley Quinn, El Diablo and Amanda Waller in particular; are memorable.
The soundtrack is funky and upbeat for the most part.
The plot and villains(yes, villains in villains-led movie) were kinda bare and boring but passable.
The biggest disappointment though, is Leto's Joker. He's introduction into the DCEU was just..forgettable. It feels like he's shoehorned into the movie and doesn't get enough time to shine on his maniacal persona. He just doesn't feel like a threat.
