Honestly, I've seen much better films this year. When the film ended I was left asking "Is that it?" and I LOVE films about this era in American history.

It seems that films like this are almost made just to win at the Oscars. Michael Fassbender was great yet again but Brad Pitt (one of my favorite actors) seemed to have one of the worst accents I've ever heard in film history.

I'm still not sold on Steve McQueen as a director.

Didn't expect much but what a great film.

McConaughey definitely deserved the Oscar for this performance.

One of my favorite film plots ever, simple but smart... or so it seemed!

I loved the film but towards the end I felt that it became too complicated for it's own good. Don't get me wrong, I loved it... but just SLIGHTLY too pretentious towards the end (mainly with the spider).

Oh, and Jake Gyllenhaal proves yet again that he is one of the best actors in Hollywood.

This film should have been a much bigger contended for Best Film at the Oscars. In my opinion, a much better film than '12 Years A Slave' (the winner) and a few of the others nominated in the same category.

I especially loved the realism in the film and I think the characters are all portrayed brilliantly. Bruce Dern really stood out with his performance and the fact that his character is a man of few words somehow makes his performance feel even better.

More proof that the story is the most important part of any film.
