For some odd reason this clichéd chick flick has an enjoyable premise with some charm to it.
Like its visually thrilling tripods, Steven Spielbergs "War Of The Worlds" manages to stand steady on its own, and in some aspects; much stronger than its previous adaptation. Even though it could have played out more focus over its actual source material.
I guess that "Hereditary" is a well-acted and suspenseful drama. But it lacks in the horror it wants to spread and falls flatter than needed when it stumbles upon yet another familiar twist with the sadistic cult genre at its core, and who really are afraid of the familiar these days.
A 100 days on a remote island and never did they saw a bad hair-day. "Blue Lagoon: The Awakening" is a poor adaptation of its original source material, and rather acts out like a tame honeymoon than a gripping tale about being stranded and letting nature take its toll on the human behaviour.
"TAKEN" MAY NEED BETTER TAKEN CARE OF STORYWISE. BUT IT GIVE US BOTH A SATISFYING BEAT-UP FIGHT WE DEMAND AND A NEESON WITH A PARTICULAR SET OF SKILLS.
