This was not a bad movie, but not a great or epic one either. There's a lot of cut and paste of old ideas, kinda like code reuse.
SPOILER ALERT from here forward:
There's the usual alien bar scene, the outpost of scavengers, the my family member is evil seduced by the dark side but I think I can change him, the evil dude in the odd mask (who this time turns out to wear it because he wants to), the really big weapon that has awesome destructive force but can be destroyed by a small force yadda yadda. The line from Battlestar Galactica comes to mind, all this has happened before and will happen again (we can only hope not). And of course the reunion of all the old stars felt almost forced. I thin they almost needed to put a name tag on Princess Lea so we could recognize her, not to mention Luke's cameo. We saw it in IMAX 3D and I was also underwhelmed by that. The 3D did not seem to have the same "depth" to it, or the same depth of field. And you had to keep your head rotated at exactly the right angle or it was out of focus. All in all I would say wait for it to hit the small screen and you won't be disappointed (quite so much). I give it three and a half ... yawns :)
Not a bad movie. Reasonably clever. Definitely a guy movie.
Not a bad movie recreation of the play. Unfortunately none of the music. Liam did ok but sometimes kind of thin.
Not a bad movie. Kind of slow and dragging at times. Well acted by David.
Light, preidctable, occasionally funny movie.
