Outstanding movie. A lot of symbolism with a big swerve in the third act. It reminded me a bit of Putney Swope (1969) and Livin Large (1991) but with more nuance and a science fiction spin. I highly recommend this film.
A social commentary film. I liked it well enough and would recommend it but the confrontation was too Hamilton for me. The chemistry is apparent between the two friends but they do some incredibly stupid things.
This is one of those 'near future' movies that's getting closer all the time. I'm not a fan of the franchise or genre but there are things here that I did like. For example, who would step in and shield a community from a systematic and coordinated attack? Also you don't find many movies with a Black cast fighting together.
I so much wanted to like this movie. I was picturing a riff on 1980's Gloria actually laughed at the big climatic battle at the end. Someone please write a descent role for Taraji.
A good watch. Lilly is great as The Wasp, John-Kamen is exceptional as Ghost and Douglas and Fishburne add some weight to a light-hearted addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
