Andrew's Review of Moonrise Kingdom
I really got a kick out of Moonrise Kingdom, a film that's not only smart, but also comes from the heart. I wouldn't go to say that this is the best film I've seen all year, but it's definitely one of the best. With an all star cast, the story follows two young children in love who decide to run away into the woods together. Soon a whole search party is put together to find them as soon as possible, given that a massive and dangerous hurricane is on its way. Throughout the film, I noticed how basic the story was. It's basically a boy and girl who fall in love together. This film wouldn't have been as good as it is if it weren't for the true star of the film, Wes Anderson's camera styling. The use of the camera created great moods throughout the film and it's what pushed the film beyond great. Overall, Moonrise Kingdom is a film to see. You'll enjoy the great performances by Bill Murray, Bruce Willis, and the others as well as the smart score and great script.
