Watched it because of the two main characters. The movie held my interest for a little bit but lost intrest before the end.
One of the best relationship dramas I have seen since "The Kids are Allright." Some may expect another "Bridemaids" from the cast, but the movie feels more like "The Kids are Allright". It presents an uncoventional relationship with intelligent writting that keeps you interested to the very end.
Wow! Take shelter is a slow but gripping movie with one (or two) of the BEST performances I have seen since Danial Day Lewis in "There will be blood". I can actually draw many comparisons to that movie. Its a film that takes its time to breath. Its a movie that will make you feel a little schizo after seeing it. It is surrel at times but believable. like "There will be blood", the movie builds this slow tension that actually pays off into a crazy spiral towards the end.
A story inspired by real events. While not groundbreaking I though it was much better than advertised (rotton tomatoes review). Ryan Gosling shows his range much like he did in Blue Valentine. His roles are not alway the likable leading man type. Some woman probally get disapointed when he plays a creep but it makes me repest him more as an actor.
Not for everybody since the tittle is a little misleading. I expected a :thirteen" or "juno" type movie, but it was a little more flamboyant than advertised. Junno Temple is a standout in this average movie.
