A lot better than the first one. Filled with far more suspense, and it has that sense of foreboding you can't quite put your finger on. I still don't think it was a scary movie. I mean, how many times can you see someone dragged away by an invisible entity before it becomes comical?
Interesting little horror thriller with a very original twist. Can't say that about 99% of horror these days. Good direction, f/x, and acting. It's all here. Well done.
As a docudrama type of film, it works. As a horror movie, it fails. The first half of the movie is very interesting, with a shady preacher out to prove that exorcism is indeed bullshit, and just a mental issue that religious fanatics have, that's great. The problem is that he's so sleezy it's hard to care when his life is in danger. Where was the horror? Where was the suspense? This has all been done before, much better.
At times, it's sufficiently claustrophobic and suspenseful, and then it's mind numbingly frustrating. Surely, even in a panicked situation, no human would make such ridiculous decisions with his life on the line. When I'm expected to believe in a story, you can't throw rationality out the window, that kinda ruins it.
