Not all animated films need to follow the standards set by Laika, Disney, Pixar, Aardman and Ghibli to be great There are times an animated film can be great on it's own terms like Moomins on the Riviera and Mark Osborne's The Little Prince for example Hugo The Hippo is a film is a film i like to call "So campy, It's great" There are elements of camp like the OST comprising of tunes mostly sung by Jimmy Osmond, Marie Osmond and Burl Ives and of course, Paul Lynde's recognizably camp voice being used as the voice of the film's evil vizier, Aban-Khan but however what make the film stands out is the animation and the visuals itself Sure, The plot is a bit murky at times because of the song numbers but the soundtrack add to the charm While this can be compared to say "Yellow Submarine" because of the trippy visual aspect but the film is great on it's own and i highly suggest y'all see this film... it's really good
Jimmy M falseA very charming anime film with a laughably corny dub (funny because of Panda Papa's english voice)
Jimmy M falseDon't let the ads fool you, This film is funny, cleaver and smart plus for once... it's a film that stayed faithful to the original source material
Jimmy M falseThis film despite some flaws is a must watch - even if you aren't familiar with The Wombles Mike Batt's score is charming and whimsical while the comedy is down right silly and reminds us of the fun American International produced-Beach Party films The funniest part of the film is the Japanese couple (played by real Japanese actors) with the husband being a head of a japanese car company, What makes them a riot is the Wife speaks traditional japanese while the hubby speaks Engrish The main plot is a bit shaky given the actor who player Mr. Banks (who died after the film's release) played the same film structure as he did in Marry Poppins [the stuck up father who gave in to the whimsy out of the blue in the latter half of the film] but overall, Given the film is typical B-movie cheese You should at least enjoy the film for it's campiness as well as the brilliant music composed by Mike Batt
Jimmy M falseTim and Eric is the definite reason why [adult swim] is unwatchable and this film is so bad i stopped streaming it 8 minutes in because i have no clue what the hell is going on and i fail to find any humor in it. Those who claim their humor is off beat and irreverent need to snap outta it because Benny Hill and Monty Python's off beat and irreverent humor is a trillion times better than Tim and Eric's
