This one is for the fans, not the critics.
"Sex and the City 2" has the "sparkle" moments that made the long-running TV show a hit.
But, it also has a fairly long runtime of 2 hours and 25 minutes. Most of it is set in Abu Dhabi, not in the city that made Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha famous-- the Big Apple.
The ladies have new problems: Carrie is worried about her marriage becoming a bore. Miranda has a misogynistic boss. Charlotte won't admit her two kids are driving her crazy. But Samantha-- is still-- well, Samantha, always looking for the next guy.

Now, here's where "Sex and the City 2" might get into trouble... and it's not the racy sex scenes.
Some have criticized the film's portrayals of Muslims... for instance, when the women fly to the UAE, they encounter conservative, tenacious men... stereotypes, who want women, including our quartet, to be modest and well-behaved.
It seems they're out of luck with our heroines.
The question is-- will viewers be out of luck?
We'll see. The women are getting older, but for fans, they're still funny.
"Sex and the City 2" moves slowly at times, but it likely won't keep diehard fans from enjoying themselves.
On my scale of one to ten, "Sex and the City 2" rates a "five."
I'm Paul Chambers.
