David J's Review of Frost/Nixon
A terrific period piece by Ron Howard of the time that disgraced former US President Richard Nixon got a grilling by British talk show legend David Frost (now Sir David Frost), and got more than what he bargained too.
Despite the flimsy start of the interview process, Frost showed that when the going got tough, the tough got going and had a good team of investigators in place. When it was in danger of going all pear-shaped, one of his team came up with a wildcard in the shape of documental evidence dishing the dirt on Nixon.
Against all the odds, when Nixon though he could 'railroad' himself out of this situation, he was finally humbled by Frost's sheer determination and directness that finally made him feel accountable for his wrong-doings.
In many ways similar to All The President's Men, but without feeling too drawn out.
