Sean's Review of Killing Them Softly
Killing Them Softly(2012)
Wow, big disappointment! I was really looking forward to this movie and had high hopes for it. Pitt was great and some of the style was cool but that is about all I can say for positives. The whole James Gandolfini character was completely unnecessary and a waste of time. Much of his dialogue was useless also. At times I wanted him to shut up and get back to the story! The story which was paper thing by the way. 'Drive' was a slightly similar movie to this in its tone and subject and 'Drive' is 10x the movie this is. Then there is the political theme running through the movie because every restaurant and bar always has speeches by the President playing right? It almost felt like the whole movie was just a build up to the political statement in the last line of the film. What a joke. Next time, just give me a better gangster hitman movie and leave out the politics. Also, give me a better story, better dialogue and more action while you are at it.
