Notes on a Scandal
10 years ago via Rotten Tomatoes

I've kept a personal journal for almost 20 years. No, that doesn't mean I'm old, I just started keeping a journal at a very young age. It started out as an assignment in my English class and became my escape from the rough and ready teenage years. As I got older, I started to keep an online journal, but I have found that recording your thoughts and feelings online can have many drawbacks and I have returned to the more privately tangible type. . .

Babel (2006)
10 years ago via Rotten Tomatoes

Babel was one of the most strongly promoted independent films of 2006. I remember seeing trailers for it as far back as June and the frequency in which they were played grew intensely, to the point where I was watching a Babeltrailer at least four times a weekend. This movie was apparently a force to be reckoned with, I thought, as I eagerly checked my listings for the local availability of the film. Sadly, the film landed in our theatre during the weekend we were leaving for a road trip to Wisconsin over Thanksgiving. My husband and I didn't think much of it and swore we'd catch the film the weekend we were back. No such luck, though. The film ran the week of Thanksgiving, the week after and was promptly gone from our entire area afterwards!
