Mommiezombie and I are going to start a hottie list. We will be comparing notes on each hottie on our list. The reason I'm telling you this is because we are encouraging any one to make up their own list too. I know some of you already have done this but there are some who haven't. It?s always interesting to me to see other folks getting creative with their journals. It?s actually very neat. Now back to the film review. We (my hubby and I) received this film in the mail yesterday called; "Killing Emmett Young". I know you are saying to your self; but Fritz you have seen this film before. Yes, you would be right but I forgot the story line since it?s been a while since I've seen it. Have you all ever disliked a film but then have it only to grow on you when you catch it on cable or something? This film kind of did that to me. I?ve caught this film on cable a couple of times in the middle or at the end (story of my life). I decided to rent this film again. The story line needs a lot to be desired but the actors blew me away. This is a case were the actors are what made this film. I know I have to say this for you all but yeah I'm on this Tim Roth kick. I don't know why but his performances always blow me away. Do you all ever get on those kicks? I'm sure I'm not the only one. Any who, the story line for this film has a lot of holes in it but it is a good mystery over all. There is a montage of a sort towards the end that didn't really need to be there but I understand were the director was coming from. I just wish it was done differently. Tim Roth, Gabriel Byrne, and Scott Wolf are just some of the actors that made this film redeemable. "Killing Emmett Young" is about this young detective named Emmett Young (hence the title) who finds out he has a disease of some sort and is only given a short time to live. So, Emmett takes matters in his own hands by hiring a hit man to knock him off before he dies. During all of this he is investigating a string of murders to young women (which they never tell the audience who the killer is) which complicate matters worse. To come to find out that the doctors office mixed up Emmett's test results with another patient's. Emmett has to figure out how to cancel the hit on his life. Now I did enjoy this film over all even though I had some major issues with this film. I would suggest this film to folks due to the character study. There is a bonus feature to the DVD but very little. Please see what you think. Oh come back later and I will have my hottie list started.
