Very well documented and very insightful documentary, skillfully pieced together. Excellent use of footage from the time, good narration. I was always interested in the content.
YET ANOTHER GODZILLA ENTRY, THIS TIME HE BATTLES AN ALIEN MONSTER WITH THREE HEADS. I WATCH THESE OLD JAPANESE GODZILLA MOVIES FROM TIME TO TIME IN THE HOPES OF UNDERSTANDING THE CULT FOLLOWING THEY HAVE. NOT THIS TIME!
What an inanely stupid Christmas movie. It is silly, dumb and ridiculous. The acting is over the top, mush of it makes no sense and it is riddled with goofs.
Not quite a 7, but close. Good story, full of unexpected twists. The plot is completely ludicrous of course, but still remains entertaining. The nice cast helps.
Another fine Bowery Boys/East Side Kids movie. They were very low budget, but that can be easily overlooked. The cast is so much fun and they always have a good moral to the story. Good entertainment.
Very dated cult film about the dangers of sexually transmitted diseases. It's largest downfall is the horribly stiff acting. It does remain interesting because of it's view of the problem at the time.
68/100. It is an original concept, and I did like that about the film. The acting was fine, as was the photography. The film claims it was based on true events, but it seemed a little extreme to me, I was not fully convinced. It has a very good pace.
The acting is poor, the direction lacks spark. Dumb and amateurish. The whole convent thing is just too much. It tries to provide laughs, but it is so far fetched. Its a sister act rip-off.
FINE WW2 ACTIONER, NICELY DONE BY LESLIE HOWARD
Powerful anti war documentary, beautifully pieced together with outstanding footage used. Very well narrated, excellent interviews. Fascinating.
Big budget for a Universal Studios movie, good art direction and costumes. However, even with it's reasonable length, it drags on and has some definite sleep inducing sections.
Barbara Stanwyck uplifts this fine melodrama. She is terrific as always. Great supporting cast, good screenplay. Nicely produced, a fine classic.
Ordinary and very clearly made for television. It means well but it's a very routine stroy with fair performances. Nothing special in any way.
THIS DOCUMENTARY IS ABOUT MISSIONARIES THAT ENTER A REMOTE AND VERY DANGEROUS AREA OF ECUADOR AND HOW FIVE OF THEM WERE KILLED. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE WHOLE CONCEPT OF MISSIONARIES ENTERING HAPPY PEOPLE'S LIVES WITH THE INTENT TO CONVERT THEM TO CHRISTIANITY. IF THESE MISSIONARIES HAD JUST LEFT THEM ALONE TO LEAD THEIR HAPPY LIVES, THEY WOULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN KILLED TO BEGIN WITH!! WHEN WILL CHRISTIANS EVER LEARN JUST TO LEAVE NON CHRISTIANS ALONE? DID IT EVER OCCUR TO THESE SELFISH MISSIONARIES THAT THESE PEOPLE KILLED BECAUSE THEIR PEACEFUL LIFE EXISTENCE BEING INTRUDED ON? I FOUND IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SYMPATHIZE WITH THEIR DEATHS.
64/100. Slow moving but very well acted by Joan Allen and Jeremy Irons. Nicely photographed and of course the wonderful art of Georgia O'Keeffe is a big plus for the movie. I would have liked to see more of that than so much focus on the trials and tribulations of her marriage. The stars and the artwork makes it worthwhile.
Badly acted, excessively cheesy and a ridiculous plot. The action scenes lack thrills, the special effects are poor. Just dumb.
I liked the fact that the film was dofferent, it has an unusual plot. It does have a low budget look, but the performances aren't bad and it is an appropriate 86 minute length.
Yes, it is bad, but it is the kind of bad that you can enjoy. It doesn't take itself too seriously, (at least I hope not!) and is filled with just about every cliche from every teenage horror flick. The score is unusually bad. That'll teach you for cheating by taking steroids.
This sequel is equal too if not a little bit better than the original, it has a more interesting plot, but it still is lacking in many ways. The presence of Fred Astaire is a good thing.
Very strange film, not unusual for Atom Egoyan however. Interesting subject matter but a very negative film and it leaves a bad taste in one's mouth. The acting is fine, just not a cheery film at all, but it is well made and the direction is thoughtful.
