Rating History

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
12 years ago via Rotten Tomatoes

I admit it, I have always been partial to the OT. Epidode 1 and 2 were not bad, but they sure didn't make me change my thought process of liking the originals better. That was then and Sith is now.

Granted, I understand some of the ridicule of the so/so acting, but that is where I draw the line on the critique of the movie. I haven't been so pulled into a story since LOTR:ROTK. Which I also gave 10/10 or RT. It's not easy for me to give such a high rating, but this SW:ROTS is a very special movie.

I won't go into any details of the story, but I will tell you that Lucas tied it in very nicely to go into A New Hope. Not bad considering there are 28 years of separation between the two.

If you are a die hard (probably see it several times) or just a causal Star Wars fan, go see this on the big screen. And if it's your choice, see it with the SDDS sound. If you wait until it hits DVD, I think you will truly regret it.

My Top 10:

SW:ESB: 10/10
LOTH:ROTK: 10/10
SW:ROTS: 10/10
Spiderman 2: 9.5/10
Gladiator: 9.5/10
The Passion of the Christ: 9.0/10
LOTR:FOTH: 9.0/10
Braveheart: 9.0/10
SW:ANH: 9.0/10
Blade: 8.5/10

How can a movie live up to this much hype. I mean you cannot go anywhere without seeing something with with Spidey on it. My God, I bought a 3 pack of Brawney papertowels and guess who was on them. That's right, Spiderman. Well I thought that maybe I did it with the buy in to all the hype. Well, low and behold, Spiderman 2 exceeded my expectations....by far. This movie totally blew my mind. The only thing I can compare it to would perhaps be Superman 2. But miles and miles better. There are a few critics that say it is boring. I believe that these guys had there mind made up before they ever entered the theater. Or maybe they were paid off by other movies that were stupid enough to open up 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after Spiderman. This is a movie that really has something for everyone. When the movies ended, everyone stood and cheered. I saw it on the opening Wednesday night and have been back 3 times since. I could watch it a few more times, but budget is budget so I will eagerly and impatiently wait for the DVD. If you really need a fix and cannot afford to watch the movie a bunch of times, pull out the first movie. Or....if you have never seen the Spiderman: Animated Series from 2K3, this is a very nice DVD to own. All 13 episodes from the MTV series. It ROCK's!!!!!
