Thor: Ragnarok

Marvel gets back on track after a disappointing Spider-Man flick last summer. Thor is a bit overly goofy at times... but funny and highly entertaining as well. Hopefully it's the light before the coming darkness... because it's time for this universe to bring the pain! Bring on Thanos!!

Short but sweet and well made thriller. Pretty basic plot but still compelling enough to hold my attention. Grillo is a rising star.

Blade Runner 2049

The first half of this film was a drawn out slog... the second half a very entertaining film. The long awaited Blade Runner sequel 35 years in the making is a visual masterpiece without a doubt and is worth while... but overall it just didn't seem to have the emotional depth needed to be anything more.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

I wrote this franchise off long ago... but still end up watching the sequels for my Daughter's sake. I still contend that the only truly 'good' film in the franchise is the very first film and after seeing Dead Men Tell No Tales... it's still true. But... there are a few decently entertaining moments here. But it's time for this to end now... please.

Powered by a great performance by Cruise as Barry Seal and some solid story telling American Made is an exciting and interesting take on events based on a true story.
