End of Watch(2012)

The amount of harrowing situations the protagonists endure in End of Watch would likely cause a person to have a nervous breakdown. It's an (unintenionally) anti-recruitment film for those who may be interested in a law enforcement career in high crime neighborhoods.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena are excellent in their portrayal of two men who are close frieds and partners. Their banter feels natural and their devotion to their job and each other moved me, especially the ending.

It's unfortunate that director David Ayer thought it would be a good idea to alternate between a found footage style movie and a conventionally shot film. It's inconsistent, distracting, and cheapens an otherwise solid film.
