Splice (2010)

Hated it. The movie is an hour and thirty minutes into it and I'm still waiting for something to happen. Talk about tedious! One of the worst scripts ever filmed. I gave it a 20% rating because it had Adrian Brody and some other good actors along with good production but the story was Lame Lame Lame..billed as a sci-fi thriller it was anything but. I kept asking myself how Brody could have read the script and thought..oh yeah here's a winner. Top Critics gave this movie a 70% RT users gave it a 39% rating.

A Perfect Getaway

I want to tip my hat to David Twohy for making another really fun movie. Thanks for a great ride! The beautifully shot scenery of Hawaii, the tension, and especially the actors Tim Olyphant (one of my new favs), new comer Kiele Sanchez, and Mila Jojovitch who turns in a great performance all did credit to this fun thriller. I'm a big fan of Jojovich (she's just really easy on the eyes). Shyamalan should pay attention and learn something about how a real movie twist is done; I was tripping out when the reveal kicked in. All in all I really liked this movie and pretty much everything writer/director David Twohy puts out there. BTW he's genius in the Sci-Fi realm with movies like The Arrival, Pitch Black and one of my all time favs in Sci-Fi... The Chronicles of Ridick. The Perfect Getaway breaks away from that type of flick but really shines as an entertaining thriller; well crafted, acted and shot.

The Expendables

Loved The Expendables. I took my Dad to see this and we were both looking at each other like, WTF? It was Awesome! I like seeing the bad guys get blown to pieces with an auto-asault shotgun or over the top (really really big) explosions. The perfect summer popcorn movie. Absoluetely loved it. As a teen in the 80's I grew up watching the action stars of that era and this was a great homage to them. Better by far than The Losers (which I watched before going to compare and contrast). Look, I love movies, But I can recognize and appreciate the differences between Dr Zhivago, The Quiet Man, or The Lion in Winter (3 of my favorites)and an action flick. This was one of the best action movies I've seen. Take the violence of the last Rambo flick, combine it with the top action characters of the last 20 years, add funny dialogue between them and great chemistry and you have a great summer movie. If you are a fan of this type of flick you can't go wrong

Zombieland (2009)

Hillarious take on zombie's...blows Shaun of the Dead out of the water as a fresh take on the genre. Must see if a fan of comedic horror..Woody Allen is great... Jesse Eisenberg is laugh out loud funny and the whole thing works. Great flick
