L.A. Confidential

Almost too good. They don't make mysteries, cop dramas, or frankly...movies like this anymore. A twist-a-minute thriller that will keep you guessing until the end and you'll still be wrong. Lucky this film was made in 1997, because this cast would cost $100 Million if it were made now. Great performances, great writing, great directing - not really much left to ask for.

Amélie (2001)

Nothing short of perfect. This is the most charming movie in years and Audrey Tautou could be the most adorable actress of all time. The story is phenomenal, and the acting and directing elevate this movie further. I can't think of a better way to spend two hours. The feel-good movie of all time.

Watchmen (2009)

Horrible. A complete disaster from start to finish. Between the laughable display of Nixon and the Cold War and the abysmal acting the movie is difficult to take. The uninteresting, incoherent and utterly ridiculous story make this the worst movie I've seen in months. Avoid this movie like the plague.

A very solid movie - Good idea that was executed well. Nothing too stunning and a weak ending, but overall a success
