There is SO much wrong with this film. Very large plot holes, some terrible dialogue, but the worst thing this film has is some uninspired performances by almost the entire cast (Paul Bettany notwithstanding; he was great). Dennis Quaid, an average but amiable actor was frustratingly terrible. Every time he delivered a line, I cringed.
That, not the plot holes and dialogue is what made me rate it so low.

Quite honestly, I have no idea why I watched this film, but it was surprisingly good! It was funny, well acted (a rarity for kid's films these days) and all around family fun.

Did I mention it was funny? It really was.

Perfect beautiful movie! Three hours long and I can still watch this thing over and over again (and quote it with friends and family).

I don't know if it's because this movie was such a big part of my childhood or because it's just a great film, but this is one of those movies I can watch again and again. It's currently on my tv as I write this review! I can quote it, I've read the play. In my eyes, there is little wrong with the film.
Tom Cruise, and company's performances are all great (with the exception of Demi, whose performance is comparatively underwhelming).
There are certainly plot holes, but the dialogue and performance, in my eyes, make up for it.
Great movie, great play.
