Transformers: Dark of the Moon

splat! Other than the fact the theater had A/C, pretty much my only entertainment while watching this movie came from wondering what the hell prompted Frances McDermont and John Malkovitch agree to be in this movie.

The plot was contrived and childish. The logic of the movie was something along the lines of, "you like us because we're good, and we're good because we're the good guys". Very clever! The movie played out like it was some juvenile male fantasy of a 21 year old child who still plays with Transformers at his job in the mail room of some project finance company. In other words, someone who probably has too much money than he should have. The director apparently thinks we all need to be constantly distracted with idiotic sound effects and exotic robot violence. Sadly, some in the audience do, but not all of us do, and not all the time.

A truly sad statement about the world we live in is that this movie made over $300 million at the box office and that they're contemplating a 4th in the sequel. Hey, if people are shelling out that kind of money, why worry about things like a script, camera crews that don't film themselves shooting the movie, other continuity flaws in the plot and special effects etc.

Gross! I was outraged with this film - starring a sexually abusive Catholic priest, animal abuse (towards dogs), and women in cages being harvested for organs. The biggest outrage I had was that I couldn't get my money back!

Honestly, I came in wanting more story pertaining to "Fight for the Future," instead all I got was Mulder and Scully in their own "Hostel meets Saw." I thought it was bizarre!!
