If you somehow failed to recognize that Taylor Sheridan is a genius after Hell or High Water, Wind River definitely changes that and confirms his status as one of the best contemporary filmmakers. You could call him the Clint Eastwood of neo-western, but that would fail to recognize both the punch and sensitivity he so masterfully delivers. The punch is much harder and with perfect contemporary rural sensitivity. There is no need to let you know that Jeremy Renner is excellent, he is always is, we should be very grateful he was willing to take a paycut and time off from his wealth building exercises in Avengers. This is the type of movie we want to see him in, and that he wants to make, and might be more willing to now that Avengers have filled his coffins and are rounding out. Olsen is equally excellent, and we should expect to see her in more excellent performances in the future.
I don't think there is anyone movie the last 20 years that have had more impact on me, than this one. First of all, this is a movie where father-daugher is THE strongest bond. It is a bond that can reach across time and space, literally. Secondly, this movie, while very much a Nolan, is the creation of Kip Thorne, and it includes some very revolutionary cosmology theories and black holes, and space-time bending, even to the point the pre production work of the movie resulted in two Nature publications. Not only that, the simulations of the black hole used for special were proven right to be extremely accurate after last years ever photo of a black hole. Kip Thorne also got a Nobel prize just a few years after. So, the science is very science, although it also some VERY spectacularly ideas, or rather tale tales, about what might happen inside a black hole. Climate change deniers, stay away, you will NOT like this movie. This is my number 1 movie of all time, so dont you dare not see it and not like it.
Decent action movie starring Tom Cruise doing his usual while excellent action role role. The story develops as expected, which not much surprises. In summary, highly watchable but these last few years we have seen several similar and better movies and TV series (e.g. Narcos).
As far as super hero movies goes, this is as pretty much as good as it gets. That said, it is not as good as Thor Ragnarok. I was already tired of Thanos, and there is more of him. When there are super heroes, there must be super villains. This is a formula
that is never broken. While staying within these boundaries, Endgame does deliver a very solid and entertaining no brainer.
Doesn't quite live up to its own ambitions. Although it contains good performances by its all female cast, the long awaited twist turns out to be there is no twist. All it's trying to say is AI is bad so beware.
