Great performances by Lily James and Kristin Scott Thomas (wonderfully vicious as Mrs. Danvers). However, the editing and script distances the film from the Hitchcock classic.

Nicely made independent movie touching on a subject seldom discussed in U.S. history books: POW camps on U.S. soil. This based-on-a-true-story tale nicely portrays semi-rural and military life in the Midwest during World War II.

Visually was terrific; however, the sometime stifled voices were overwhelmed by loud music and sound effects.

Great performance by Clint Eastwood. Really nice to see him play a regular person, a departure from his earlier strong character portrayals. Nice message about the dangers of sacrificing family for work.
