Again, PJ has embarrassed himself. He made three movies out of LoTR, justifiably long, but to make the same of a children's book is just sad. It would be faster to read the book than watch this bloated and misguided trilogy. The finding of the ring happened by chance, and Jackson's having Bilbo take it intentionally, steal it in fact, completely changes the tone of the entire world and the special place
within it Tolkien created for the Hobbits.
The Desolation of Peter Jackson's Integrity.
This movie is full of bloat in all the wrong places, and then rushes through the parts that matter. The dwarves go from spiders to dead Smaug in less than a week!
Passable chick flick, but this simple melodramatic file is more like an episode of Dawson's Creek than something worthy of an Academy Award.
The reading level of this film is third grade, I don't know how it has so many positive reviews. It would be much more enjoyable if I either had never read a book, or loved cheesy foam costumes
