Inside Job (2010)

The information presented in this documentary is vital. The way the information is presented and expressed is impartial and comprehensive. The film takes its time explaining the complicated elements involved and doesn't assume you're an expert in the financial or political field. The film also succeeds in conveying a feeling of unease. By the time the credits appear, you won't just be informed, you'll be itching to become involved.

Drive (2011)

It's refreshing to watch a movie that isn't exploding with CGI, over the top Special Effects and vomit inducing Shaky Cam. The director takes his time, building scenes and developing characters. This isn't your typical brain dead action film, where the main character fires one-liners at a hundred miles per hour. The dialogue is thought out and purposeful. The story is not completely original, but it is creative in how it's presented. And I can appreciate the artistic approach, rather than the all too prevalent approach "lets make a movie for the sake of making a movie."
