The Expendables 2

I found it superior to the original in every way, I found the action more hard hitting, the jokes funnier and the story better. It was what I expected the first one to be, more freely joking at it's own premises and the stars in them. So bad in all the right ways. The first one was tolerable for me, but I found Expendables 2 downright enjoyable. Only the cheesey CGI here and there detracted from the movie. I could have done with cheesey practicals, but some of the CGI was flat out poorly done, but I was willing to look past this blemmish, if not totally ignore it.

Tower Heist
Tower Heist (2011)

While Tower Heist has it's funny moments, I just couldn't get over the how completely and utterly outlandish the climax was. I could hardly sit through it as they dangle that object, which because of its make up weighs several tons from... a window washing platform? And an elevator holds that same several tons? I could have sworn I saw a label that says max 16 persons or 2000 lbs. And not to mention standing said object on its end and holding it up. And no explanation how they got said object back to the roof.

I'm all for a little absurdity, and some fun stretches, but for me, it has to have some semblance of an effort to make you believe what you're seeing on the screen could happen.

She's Out of My League

Despite some lulls, I ended up laughing beginning to end. I went into the movie with extremely low expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised, perhaps because of those expectations.

Though quite vulgar at times (something that doesn't really bother me too much, but might some) I loved the jokes and many of the awkward moments. Not just the expected ones between Jay and Alice, but the ones involving supporting characters too.

Not a perfect comedy by any means, but one that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Terminator Salvation

The downfall of this movie for me starts and ends with the trailer. As soon as I saw the trailer I thought to myself, "Wow, I hope they didn't just give away the entire plot," but somehow I just knew they'd just revealed the entire plot. Sure enough. They made it obvious enough I probably would have figured it out early anyway, but they didn't even give me that chance.

The movie is full of great effects, and ultimately I certainly didn't hate the movie, but I couldn't enjoy it the way I wanted to. This movie had potential, but just seemed to fall flat in a few too many places.
