I am a big fan of artistic and symbolic movies because it always leaves me guessing, though I will admit the ending is a bit bizarre and unclear. I felt that the movie really addressed the common fear of death throughout the ages and the journeys people take to overcome the "disease" that is death. Interpretations, though, to the three different time periods, are purely up to the viewer, which for the most part was catastrophic to the publicity of the movie because people are used to being spoon-fed the meaning of a movie. I felt that Weisz and Jackman did wonderfully and performed as well as they could with a screenplay as vague and confusing as it is.

Okay, so call me snobbish but I didn't laugh a single time in this movie. All the good moments are in the trailer and after seeing this trailer one too many time, the laughs were well worn and I was found sitting there, grinding my teeth and wishing that I had spent my dollar at the dollar theater on a different movie. But "Up" was sold out and no one else in my group of friends wanted to see "Star Trek" (both movies which I know are good since I've seen them). So there I was, listening to the audience getting a kick out of the cheap tricks and laughs and I was shaking my head, wishing it were over. If I feel tricked out of one dollar, that's bad.
