Apatow at his best this movie has made up for the bittersweet entourage of 2009 summer blockbusters.

Captain America: The First Avenger
5 years ago via Rotten Tomatoes

Solid performances by Evans, Tucci, Jones, and Atwell. Captain America: The First Avenger is no Iron Man, but it is an action packed film that leaves so many clues to Thor and The Avengers, it keeps comic book fans like myself glued to the chair. Joe Johnston was a good choice to pick to helm this film with his versatile talent from Raiders of The Lost Ark and Star Wars. The film provides the retro vibe and is much appreciated. Evans brought the Captain justice.

Green Lantern
Green Lantern (2011)

I appreciate ALL the hard work and effort that was put into this film. Ryan Reynolds did Hal Jordan justice and Mark Strong, solid as Sinestro. The thing that was wrong with the film is that Green Lantern is an in depth, compelling story. Martin Campbell as the director, didn't deliver the mythology of Green Lantern's origins. The film was rushed in essence, even the main Lanterns didn't receive much screen time, hence Kilowog. Secret Origin was longer than the film and I don't understand why this film was rushed to the bitter end. Geoff Johns was even on the set. Goddammit, the man signed my Lantern shirt. The problem to stem from all this, is that Campbell has no interest in comic books. So DC, why in the fuck would you hire a man that doesn't give a flying shit about comics in the first place? I know the cure to DC's problems, give all the superheroes to Christopher Nolan. Christopher Nolan is to DC as Kevin Feige is to Marvel. If I was DC Entertainment, I'd find a director that actually gives a shit about the fanboys and the mythology of Green Lantern. I applaud the concept artists for their many hours sacrificed to make this happen. Reynolds, especially, did a fine performance. This is why I am giving Green Lantern a 60%. It is nowhere near Thor, Captain America or the Nolan Batman franchises but if I were a smarter human being, I'd study Marvel Studios filming/marketing approach and entrust years of iconic superheroes to Nolan.

I was wrong 2 years ago, it kinda sucked. Snake Eyes was badass to say the least.

Nostalgic to the first Predator and delivers the goods. Thank God, Paul W.S. Anderson didn't direct this film. Fuck that guy.
