Transformers: Age of Extinction

Yet another dumb Transformers. Why don't they take Bay off of this franchise? Another human story that's uninteresting. Why can't they give us a movie about the Transformers? About their legend, their lore... More random battle scenes that are just chaos. Bay just won't let you watch two robots go at it without cutting in other scenes or putting the fight in the background. Terrible.

Pretty stupid movie. Sure the visuals are spectacular and the fight scenes are epic but that's all there is to enjoy on this one. One must wonder if their minds are controlling the machines why can't they do it remotely. Why must they actually be inside the machine? Also, after 7 years of this you'd think people would stop living in cities near the coast. Also, there seems to be no rules of engagement. Yeah go ahead and take some companies boat and use it as a bat. Yeah wrestle with the beasts right in the middle of the city and kill civilians. Funny how they get cheered on after winning a battle without any concern to the public damage, the civilian lives lost during it. Also, their attempt to get us emotionally invested in the characters was a poor effort.

The Dark Knight Rises

A really good movie. I find Bane to be a great villain. Some really good surprises in this movie too.

The only thing I knock this movie for is there isn't enough Batman in it. But when he is in it it's spectacular.

A good way to end the Batman legacy. Afterall he's human and ages so someone else has to carry the torch.

Moonrise Kingdom

This has to be one of the most over-rated movies on Rotten Tomatoes ever. I'm not sure what we're supposed to like about this movie.

Of course the previews are deceptive, Bill Murray is barely in this movie, and when he is he has very short scenes and nothing funny. Bruce Willis is in it a bit more but his performance is simply adequate. The acting between the 12yr olds wasn't that great.

The camera movement and editing and pace were good. The quirky, bizarre bits were fun. But overall this wasn't a very good story. I don't understand why it's rated so hi.

Either Rotten Tomatoes does a horrible job of decided whether a review was fresh or rotten or critics are completely adnormal.

Critics are at 29% while the audience is at 84%. The 84% are correct.

The acting isn't great but it's not terrible either. The action is terrific. It may not be as flashy as the fake hollywood stuff. But because you know it's accurate it actually makes for a far better experience.

Critics are either aliens or RT needs to re-tool their tomatometer.
