Jayne's Review of Absentia
What a gem of a movie! This was nothing like I expected, was better than ninety percent of horror movies I've seen at the cinema in the last couple of years (and, yes, I'm including you, Cabin In The Woods)and was made on a miniscule budget.
Without giving in to too many spoilers, let's say there is nothing predictable about these women's predicaments. A woman comes to help her sister declare her brother-in-law's death due to absentia as he's been missing for seven years. But what's going on with the subway pedestrian tunnel in the park nearby?
The last scene is one you won't forget in a hurry. Frightening, clever and very dark.
