Funny People
Funny People(2009)

Everything was good...until the ending. There was no resolve to the things that went on in the movie. It really makes the movie feel incomplete.

8.5 out of 10

While the acting at times was a bit amateur, the fight scenes were immensely impressive for this humble production. The first fight scene was especially mind-blowing when compared to my expectations.
The editing, and effects are also a bit...overdone at times. Which makes things hard to follow, or even see sometimes.

Extra points for originality and the nice little twist it had.

9.5 out of 10

Acting could have been better, not to say it was bad or even not good, it just could have been considerably better. Especially Sam Worthington's performance, it left some more to be desired. Also, the cast wasn't what I would call a great or particularly memorable cast. Average, maybe somewhat good at best.
The parts with the Na'vi and in the forests of Pandora were the parts that stuck in my mind the most, and were in my opinion the best parts of the entire movie.
Also the movie left some elements unexplained. Things that, in my mind, would have really helped the story. If you watch or have already watched the movie you will probably find these same exact parts too, and you'll know when you say/said "wait, what?" to yourself.

No, it's not a perfect movie, but at the same time, it's not even close to being bad or even mediocre. In the very least it's one of the best pieces of film making that has come out in the last several years. A must watch in my opinion, truly more of an experience than a movie and more of an event than a viewing.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Not even joking when I say this: I fell ASLEEP watching this.

It was 4 in the afternoon, and I fell asleep watching this with my girlfriend.

Yeah, seriously. Skip this boring, unnecessary movie.

Was not all that it could have been, but it does what it set out to do pretty well.

I suggest giving this one a watch.

Babylon A.D.
Babylon A.D.(2008)

Generally movies like this are my guilty pleasure, but I took absolutely no pleasure in this movie. It looked promising in the opening scenes, but then I found myself constantly pausing it, looking at how long it had left, wondering, "could the movie possibly salvage itself in that amount of time?"
...The answer is no.

This movie is easily my least liked/enjoyed movie of 2008.

Dai-Nipponjin (Big Man Japan)

What. The. HELL...Did I just watch? -My official response to this movie.

Gloriously disturbing and somewhat enjoyable. Give it a watch, but don't take it seriously at all, it's worth a look if you take it for what it is.

Blazing Saddles

"'Scruse me while I whip 'dis out.."

Spider-Man 3
Spider-Man 3(2007)

I would have liked it more if it wasn't for the Jazz club scene and Tobey MaGuire dancing and/or snapping in rythm at any point in the movie.
It might have gotten 75-85% if it wasn't for those awkward scenes.

You know it's bad when you feel awkward when you're watching it BY YOURSELF.

Mutant Chronicles

The ONLY thing I liked about this movie was a the idea/concept/premise. I HATED the acting, the storyline (or more like the gaps in it), and the effects were atrocious.

I can't believe Ron Perlman and John Malkovich agreed to be in this movie.

PLEASE, I BEG, SOMEONE, remake this movie and give it a chance to live upto its potential. =(

I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry

The only things that redeemed it for me was Ving Rhames' character (it was hilarious to see him of all people play that character) and Jessica Biel's scenes (who can deny this). Other than that, it was an increasingly not good movie at times.

Apparently it's not for everyone. But if you leave quite a bit of your brain at the door and get ready to watch things blow up, you'll probably enjoy it as much as I did.

This movie did what it set out to do. 4/5

The Rocker
The Rocker(2008)

It made me laugh and kept me entertained throughout its runtime. Honestly, what more could I have asked from this movie?

We Own the Night

I find myself agreeing with the consensus on this one. The movie was good, but given its actors and story, it could have been great. Either way, I enjoyed it.

What can I say? I'm a sucker for stylized gun-play, and movies with the not quite post-apocalyptic and not quite free-society premise.

War (Rogue Assassin)

Liked the idea, didn't mind the story, loathed the execution of the whole of it.

Fight scenes = Good but not always amazing, as expected from typical Statham/Li style.

Acting = Much to be desired.

Dialogue = Bleh. (not much more to say...really.)

Effects and cinematography = 2.5/4

All in all the premise is interesting, the way it was done was not.

I was but a wee youngin sprouting into puberty when my parents took me and my brother to see this movie at the drive in, but this movie was so effective it gave me chills in the night until my mid teens. This movie IS the movie that set my standard for this genre. It is forever burned into my mind as the meet-it-or-beat-it of extraterrestrial thrillers.

Land of the Lost

I thought it would be a little more innocence friendly when I decided to watch it. Only to be disappointed, on that end. I found it moderately hilarious, and sometimes worthy of a good hard laugh, but overall the film lacked in a lot of areas, too many to name.
Even as a massive Will Ferrell fan, I found the movie to be a chore to watch at times.
