Battlestar Galactica - The Complete Series

Battlestar will always hold a special part in my heart as being the Best TV Show I've ever had the privlege of watching.

Five years of just terrific character driven, action packed and sci-fi driven episodes that always left me breathless. If you enjoy some good old smart science fiction, this show is for you. And let me tell you that the name of this show should in no way put you off! The name is pretty ridiculous and when I first heard it, I didn't watch. But I gave in and rented the first disc of season one. After that I bought the first season and well, the rest is history.

The action sequences special effects are on par to some of the big shot movies you see. The battle above New Caprica, the Resurrection Hub and even in the three hour finale are all stunning and just amazing.

This show will make you cringe, cry, laugh, hold your breath and stop your heart... Usually all in one episode as well!

It's just a brilliant show that deserves much more recognition than it gets.

Watch and you'll see what I mean.

Eight Legged Freaks

When this movie was released I was a whole 13 years old. And boy, did I ever want to see it! I remember getting odd glances from my family in asking if they'd go to the theatres to see it with me. And ultimately, no one did... So I waited for it to hit not DVD or even VHS, but to hit TMN (the movie network) to watch it.

It's a guilty pleasure of mine this movie is. The premise is ridiculous as are the characters. But it is nice to see a young Scarlett Johanson in the movie though. I wonder what she thinks of when she looks back at the role she played in this movie.

The movie was on a couple days ago on TV and I sat through the entire thing. In a way, it's gotten worse as time has went on. Actually, it's a pretty awful movie come to think of it. But it reminds me of when I first started loving movies, so that is why it etches its way to a good ol 6/10

Up (2009)

I generally do not like 3D movies. You see, I find them to be a gimmick in which you pay and extra 3-5 dollars to see mediocre cartoony items pop out at you at rapid pace. In some sense it makes me kind of queasy.

Up however, well Up is an entirely new entity in 3D movies. It's as if Up used the 3D aspect of the movie to make the film deeper... not cheaper. And it accomplished it.

Within the first ten minutes I was crying, trying to hide the tears from my friends. Luckily I was sitting next to the girls instead of the guys as you see I got off with a little more slack.

Carl, Russel, Kevin and Dug are the most diverse group of characters in a movie I have ever seen and the play off eachother so well.

Cannot wait for the movie to hit DVD so I can watch it for a third time!

Caprica (2009)

I bought this the very first day it came out and am so happy I did. A piece of my heart was torn from me when BSG ended, so this (and the BSG DVDs) is a nice little way the BSG universe can live on forever!

The pilot started a bit slow but quickly gained momentum. I think you need to realize before you start watching this is that this is a drama. A 100% drama. No space battles, No final five, No resurrection ships, No FTL, No nothing along those lines.

It's all about how the Cylons were built. I'm excited to see how they became to believe in the one true God and how it relates to the first Cylon war.

Cannot wait for the series to start!

The Last House on the Left

Horrifying. Gruesome. Realistic. Gritty.

The best part of watching this movie was watching it with my parents. You always think "what would you actually do if something like that happened?" Well, my parents agreed with everything the parents did in this movie. The only thing they wished was that they suffered more. Now I'm sure my parents sound disgusting right now... but they really aren't.

But the movie as a whole was so realistic. The acting was superb and the reactions were that of real reactions. I was terrified while watching it and disgusted at the same time. An innocent girl having that done to her, and her parents finding out the people who did it are staying the night in their house.

Very good movie! However, I think it's a one tim watch.
