This is truly wrenching storytelling. It contains subject matter that is taboo in US movies, and additionally leaves you unsatisfied, with no redemption, with no warm embrace, and ultimately no exhale. I think this coldness and lack of resolve speaks to the condition of the collective post-war French psyche. I recommend the film for it's storytelling, but be forewarned- steel yourself before pressing play.

This is perhaps the most offensive thing I've seen in my life- and I've seen some pretty disturbing films. To perpetrate a fraud on these people who are spilling their guts to him is terribly wrong. Whether or not religious leaders do this every day is secondary to the point that he knowingly defrauded these people and exploited them to make a film.

I am a Salvador Dali fan and, yes, this film is interesting and surreal- but literally unwatchable. The filming is craftless, the music a complete non-sequitur, and the plot completely nonsensical. The one good aspect of this film is it is only 15 minutes long.

It's a modern-day cult classic. It's a dark comedy with plenty of humor, talented acting, striking cinematography, and a valid coming-of-age story about learning to make the tough decisions. It's an underrated movie and one you won't soon forget.
